The Muffle Furnace is constructed with an outer chamber fabricated out of thick mild steel sheet, rectangular in shape, and placed horizontally with an opening in the front. The inner chamber is made of a refractory muffle, surrounded by ceramic fiber blankets on all sides to minimize heat loss.
